What I Do

Content strategy

Assessing the structure of both the content on the page and the behind-the-scenes workflow of how it gets there.

  • Managing the content-first redesign of a department website

  • Auditing 150+ unstructured profiles to create one adaptable content type, plus a survey to collect new data

  • Continuously evaluating, revising, and maintaining content for a suite of public-facing websites

Usability testing

Using the appropriate tasks and questions to determine if a feature really works

  • Comparative testing of approaches to search results pages to inform long-term strategy

  • Pivoting from in-person usability testing to remote protocols within a month of COVID lockdown

  • Assessing a new navigation structure through tree testing

User interviews

Learning from users and stakeholders about their goals and needs

  • Interviewing stakeholders for a suite of research websites to identify historical challenges and context for a redesign

  • Leading a team of colleagues in interviewing 25 students and faculty members on library discovery, establishing foundation for long-term development goals

Analytics reporting

Using pageviews and clicks to understand use

  • Implementing custom events to track link clicks and referring pages, allowing for the removal of 250+ unclicked documents

Creating custom LookerStudio dashboards for 12 sites to report efficiently on common statistics

Product management

Translating user needs into feature requirements, then plotting a roadmap

  • Initiating and leading weekly meetings of cross-functional stakeholder group to unblock development on 10 key features relating to item status for a new library ILS

  • Developing specifications based on new feature requests from users, and evaluating resulting work based on the precision of those specifications
